‘TIS THE SEASON…

It’s not all about Dentistry here at Dentist on Waverley in Wheelers Hill – there are plenty of things to do this summer in the suburbs surrounding us!

If you still need to get some Christmas Shopping done then head towards one of the many Shopping Centers the area has to offer. There is “The Glen” in Glen Waverley with over 200 stores and Brandon Park Shopping Center not far from it. If you live around Mulgrave then “Waverley Gardens” offers a big variety of stores and if you enjoy some mediterranean flair then experience the Oakleigh Mall and Shopping Center with lots of Coffee Shops and Restaurants lining up along the Mall. And of course, we have to mention Chadstone Shopping Center – with over 500 stores there is something for everyone.

After all the excitement of Christmas you might want to relax in one of the many parks the suburbs have to offer. Try Brickmakers Park in Oakleigh or the Valley Reserve in Mount Waverley, but our favourite is Jells Park in Wheelers Hill. Take a stroll on one of the over 9km of paths and trails, have a BBQ Picnic, let the kids play on one of the many adventure playgrounds or simply enjoy the native animals that come to visit the lake. Try out Madeline’s@Jells for a meal and enjoy the views.

You would like to mix Park with Shopping? Go no further than Caribbean Gardens and Markets in Scorseby/Rowville – it is a great outing for the whole family and definitely worth the trip.

Ever visited the Monash Gallery of Art in Wheelers Hill? It is a key cultural facility and a popular destination for art and photography enthusiasts from across Melbourne.

That leaves us with the sport lovers! For a good variety of exercise classes, gym and swimming pools there is Monash Aquatic and Recreation Center (MARC) in Glen Waverley or you can try the new Clayton Community Center. To enjoy swimming outdoors in the summer months there is the Oakleigh Recreation Center that has just undergone major renovation and is fantastic now with several pool for everyone to enjoy – even your smallest ones!

So – there is no reason to get bored in and around the City of Monash at this time of the year!
